October Favourites;

Tuesday, 4 November 2014

Hello Lovelies;

I know I say this every month, but it flies by. I'm glad October is over, because this month it's my Birthday (10th) wink, wink. I've been trying a few different bits this month, and have a pretty good mix of beauty favourites.

Firstly is a cream that's been a lifesaver during my night shifts - It can be used as a facial cream, lip balm, hand cream as well as body moisturiser. The Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Intensive Moisturising Body Treatment has been perfect at fighting dry and dehydrated skin. Unlike the original 8 Hour cream (skin protectant) this doesn't have a vasaline like texture, or finish. This is VERY moisturising, has a matte finish and sinks in quickly. I mainly use this as a night cream. Because of it's matte finish I can walk around without a shiny cream face! It has a lemon scent which I don't actually mind as it's refreshing. It's a perfect lip balm, getting rid of chapped lips and the finish means it isn't too thick or creamy for your lips - It's like you have naturally soft lips. I highly recommend giving this a try if you're wanting to banish dry skin without that sticky feel of the original 8 hour cream. Wilkinsons Glasses Mirror - I know, a weird product to add into a favourite post, but this is just so cute and Kate Spade like - Whilst the glasses don't have a 'drawn on' effect and aren't so close together this is still rather nice compared to regular plain mirrors. It has a lovely 'click' when it closes (is it weird I like that sounds?) It was around £2 and has a magnified side and regular side which is always handy for close ups xD It's really feel sturdy...Nothing worse than something which feels cheap and flimsy.

Early October my Bourjois 1 Second Nail Polish remover gave up the ghost. I did poor the last of my regular Boots nail polish remover in it September time, but the liquid in it was too stained from my darker polishes I had removed, and I decided I needed another one. I didn't pick up the Bourjois one though, I decided to go with OPI Acetone-free Polish Remover, and boy I am glad I did! It does mean you have to put it on a cotton pad and do it the 'old fashioned way' but this does take a second to remove your polish. The Bourjois one didn't take 1 second, but this is just sooo quick! I had polish that my Bourjois one didn't remove because it was stained onto my nail, and this removed every trace of polish. Sooo happy with this, the downside you may think is travel and the risk of it going all over the place. I have an old Elegant Touch Nail Polish Remover PADS case that I use put some cotton pads in and soak them in this and take that away with me, so no worries about travel! I HIGHLY recommend this product. I never have found a mascara that I really love, but I have found what seems to be the perfect mascara - bold comment? It's the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. I have long, and straight lashes which is such a pain. Curlers help, but no mascara holds them, till now. This holds curl and length, but what's great about this product, is that it can be the perfect daily lash look, and also build up to fulfil it's Smokey Lash name...This the most beautiful lashes to compliment a smokey eyeshadow look. Finally is such a beautiful product, the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon for Brown eyes (Day) - This is such a gorgeous product. Feel so high end and well deserved for the praise I've seen in the Blogging community. I adore the night version as well, but ofc the daily one is the one I tend to reach for more. It's a beautiful milk chocolate, purple undertoned eyeshadow stick. Why does it go with brown eye so well? It has a purple undertone which is a perfect colour to pop brown eyes, though if you ask anyone that isn't a beauty addict it just looks brown, but that undertone is key to make it look beautiful with brown eyes. The night shade is a brown caramel shade which just makes your eyes pop, and I use it as an eyeliner so just my eyes pop if I'm going out for lunch or a daytime event.

That's a basic summary of what I've been loving...Ofc I have plenty of product that I could tell you about, but keep reading the blog to find out more about those.

What have you been loving this month?
Do you use any of these products?
